Snowboard Fundamentals! Learn the FUNdamentals of Freestyle Snowboarding!
Come learn to rip on the groomers, flow through the trees, manage the steeps, ride the parks, send the jumps, slide the rails and smash the POW… Lessons will cover all of the basics of freestyle snowboarding. Learn how to stand strong and carve a board. Learn proper park etiquette so you can safely hit your first jumps, boxes and rails. Then we will learn some tricks! Our goal is to create riders who can ride safely and confidently down all of Apex’s great terrain in style!! But most importantly, the lessons over the course of the season will be filled with heaps of fun, tons of hype and high fives! Expect to finish the season as a shredder with a posse of lifelong friends to shred with!!
Focus:
Our primary focus is to develop young riders' fundamental snowboarding skills and apply them to ALL of Apex Mountain Resort’s amazing terrain including groomed runs, trees, steeps, powder, park all while learning to jump and jib SAFELY and with STYLE!
Our secondary focus is the development of the next generation of competitive snowboarders to compete in events like boardercross, slopestyle and banked slaloms. Wanting to compete is not necessary to be a member in our club! We welcome any snowboarder!!
Prerequisite: Riders must be able to load a T-bar and/or chairlift unassisted AND ski comfortably on green runs.

Performance based program to support athletes who are keen to compete at community level and BCSnowboard level events through a dedicated program aimed towards their athletic goals, with targeted goals and events. These events include freestyle, banked slalom and boardercross.
This program is designed to support the needs of a dedicated freestyle athlete who wants to learn, grow and advance in any of the sport’s disciplines (Speed or Style) Typically, the program will run every Saturday and Sunday, throughout the winter and ideally will be integrated with off-season technical training into a yearly plan to optimize development.
This program will include some physical training as part of every daily training session. Additional training may be organized during the year to optimize participation in certain competitions and/or camps.
